Legend has it that the Cave of Fairies was once a sanctuary for three enchanting beings. Their astounding beauty mesmerized them so much that they disregarded their heavenly duties, angering the gods in the process. To seek retribution, the god Thien Loi was summoned. Even though the fairies sought refuge in a cave 200 meters above sea level, there was no escaping Thien Loi’s wrath. He set foot on the mountain, shattering a section of it. Realizing that they could never escape punishment and their father would never forgive them, the three fairies chose to plunge into the abyss. Their lifeless bodies were carried downstream, where Bao Nhai district now stands.
