Location: A Journey through Time

Situated on the western slope of Dinh mountain, Bai Dinh Pagoda is enveloped by a serene forest. Here, nature and spirituality harmonize, creating an ethereal atmosphere that transports visitors to a fairyland. As you explore the pagoda, you’ll discover the ancestor-worshipping house at its center and the Bright cave on the right, dedicated to the Buddha. Delve deeper into the wonders of Bai Dinh Pagoda, and you’ll stumble upon a myriad of grottoes and caves. The Fairy cave, along with its seven smaller caves, and the cave of Ba Chua Thuong Ngan, the goddess of forests, captivate with their awe-inspiring stalactites and stalagmites, taking visitors on a voyage of imagination.

The New Bai Dinh Pagoda: A Marvel of Craftsmanship

On the other side of Dinh Mountain lies the new Bai Dinh Pagoda, a magnificent structure that has been under construction since 2003. What makes Bai Dinh Pagoda truly exceptional is the meticulous craftsmanship that went into its creation. The pagoda was built using materials sourced from local areas and neighboring provinces, showcasing the finest of Vietnamese traditional arts and crafts. Skilled artisans from renowned villages such as Phu Loc for wood making, Ninh Van for stone carving, Y Yen for bronze casting, and Van Lam for embroidery worked tirelessly to bring the essence of Vietnam to every corner of Bai Dinh Pagoda.

Worshiping Monuments: A Divine Experience

The crown jewels of Bai Dinh Pagoda are undoubtedly the Tam The Temple and Phap Chu Temple. Encompassing a total area of 1,000 square meters, these two temples awe visitors with their grandeur and spiritual significance. Standing tall at 22 meters, the Phap Chu Temple houses a bronze Buddha Sykamuni statue, an awe-inspiring feat of craftsmanship. Certified as Vietnam’s largest statue, it reaches an astonishing height of 10 meters and weighs a staggering 100 tons. The temple also boasts several national records, including the three largest horizontal lacquered boards (hoành phi) and three intricately sculpted and engraved “Cua Vong.”
