Yang Prong Cham Tower: A Journey into Tranquility
At the end of the 13th century, the magnificent Yang Prong Cham Tower was erected as a place of worship, dedicated to the God Siva, also known as Mukhalinga. It was built to bring forth a prosperous and joyous life. Today, standing gracefully by the Ea Hleo River, this architectural marvel is a testament to the creativity and skill of ancient builders. Made of red ceramic bricks and resting on a foundation of blue marble stones, Yang Prong Tower is a sight to behold.
The tower stands proudly at a height of 9 meters, its base taking the form of a square. Though it appears to have four entrances, only one gate faces the East, symbolizing the kingdom of the Gods. The other three “doors” on the other sides of the tower are purely decorative. Unique among Cham towers in Middle Vietnam, the upper part of Yang Prong expands into a magnificent cone-shaped roof. Ascend to the top, and you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the mesmerizing Central Highlands.
