Cave Discoveries
Hidden within Marble Mountains are numerous caves waiting to be explored. These cool, moss-covered caves create an exotic atmosphere like no other. Some caves have fascinating stories of being used as hideaways over the centuries.
One must-visit cave is Huyen Khong, famous for its collapsed ceiling that allows sunlight to create dramatic spotlights inside. This cave served as a secret base and later a field hospital for Vietnamese revolutionaries. Its grandeur is surprising, with a massive stone Buddha and two shrines that attract both couples and singles seeking blessings from the god and goddess of match-making.
Additionally, Hoa Nghiem Cave on Water Mountain is home to a beautiful 400-year-old stone statue of Lady Buddha, while Tang Chon Cave on Metal Mountain showcases marble statues of chess players and mandarins. Pagodas and Shrines
One of the highlights of a visit to Marble Mountains is the opportunity to admire the striking pagodas dotting the landscape. Linh Ung Pagoda, with its intricate archway overlooking Non Nuoc Beach, guarantees stunning photo opportunities. This pagoda was rebuilt by Nguyen Dynasty King Ming Mang over 400 years ago, restoring its beauty after years of neglect. Before You Go
Marble Mountains are open daily from 7am to 5:30pm. Allocate at least two hours to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of this destination, and be sure to avoid the rainy season and the hottest hours of the day. The entrance fee is 40,000 VND, and if you prefer not to climb, there is an elevator available for an additional fee of 15,000 VND.
As you’ll be doing some uphill walking, remember to wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes and protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunscreen. Please note that Marble Mountains is a spiritual and pilgrimage site, so visitors are expected to dress modestly. Remember to remove your shoes and hat before entering any pagodas as a sign of respect.
